You can print questions on their own, answers on their own, or both in one file. Start with the worksheet you want and keep its seed and settings unchanged while making the copies.

The printed answer key gives the final answer to each question. To read the solution steps, open Answers and steps below the worksheet preview. The Examples view prints the worked example and its explanation.

Show a worked example controls whether a method example appears with Practice output. It does not change the generated answers. Include answer key applies only to Practice. It is disabled in Answer key and Examples because those views already have a specific output purpose.

  1. 1

    Finish the question version

Choose the skill and settings, then inspect Practice. Record the seed or save the current worksheet before requesting any new version.

  2. 2

    Print the learner copy

Stay in Practice and turn Include answer key off. Confirm that the export summary lists Practice without an appended answer key. Choose Print worksheet and inspect the browser print preview before confirming, or choose Save PDF and open the downloaded file to check that it contains question pages only.

  3. 3

    Print the answer copy

Return to the same worksheet without changing the settings or seed. Open Answer key. Choose Print worksheet or Save PDF again; this output contains answers only.

  4. 4

    Match the copies

Compare the skill, seed, generator version and first few question numbers. Use filenames or paper labels that keep the answer copy with its question version.

Check that the answers belong to the questions

Check a few answers against the actual questions before printing copies. For example, 6/8 simplifies to 3/4, and 84 ÷ 4 = 21 can be checked with 21 × 4 = 84. Use the question numbers and values from your own sheet when matching its key.

Simplifying fractionsInspect the simplification instructions and the matching answer form.Long divisionCheck the quotient and any remainder rule on the actual long-division sheet.

When a question contains units, compare those units as well as the number. When it contains a graph or diagram, make sure the answer refers to that diagram and the same question number. A correct calculation copied from another version is still the wrong key for the current sheet.

Review every page

A question set can occupy more than one page, and answer pages can paginate differently from question pages. Inspect the complete output rather than printing the first page range by habit. If you want both questions and answers in one file, select Practice and turn Include answer key on instead of manually combining files from different versions.

Keep a clean reprint record

For paper copies, write the same version label on the question sheet and answer key. For PDFs, keep a shared filename with a questions or answers suffix. Save both files if you will need an exact reprint later.
