The seed gives the generator a repeatable starting point. To get the same questions again, you also need the same skill, settings and generator version. Save those details together rather than keeping only the seed.

After typing a seed, choose Re-create to apply it. Printing and PDF download stay unavailable until the new preview is ready.

Record the required fields

FieldWhat to recordWhy it matters
SkillThe skill name and worksheet URLEach skill uses its own questions and range controls.
Generator versionThe version shown for the worksheet, such as mathsprig-1Generator changes can change the question sequence.
Worksheet seedThe full seed text, including its capitalizationDifferent capitalization produces a different seed.
Number settingsMinimum, maximum and every available skill-specific optionThe same seed with a different range can produce different questions.
Question countThe exact Questions valueA different count changes the worksheet content.
PresentationLayout, Text size, Paper and Show a worked exampleThese choices determine the appearance and amount of output.
Output selectionPractice, Answer key or Examples, plus Include answer key when applicableThese choices decide which pages are printed or saved.
Content IDThe ID shown under More options, plus a saved worksheetUse it for a quick comparison, then check the actual questions.

Restore the worksheet

  1. 1

    Open the same skill

    Use the original worksheet URL. Check the title before restoring its parameters.

  2. 2

    Restore the settings

    Enter the recorded number range and question count. Restore any skill-specific option, then the layout, text size, paper and worked-example choice.

  3. 3

    Enter the seed

    Open More options, replace Worksheet seed with the recorded text, and choose Re-create. Do not choose New version, which requests a different seed.

  4. 4

    Compare the result

    Check the generator version and Content ID, then compare the ordered questions and answers with your saved copy. Inspect diagrams and units when present.

  5. 5

    Restore the output view

    Select the original view and Include answer key setting before printing. A matching question set can still produce a different file if the output selection differs.

Make a reference record

Try the Equivalent fractions record below. With generator mathsprig-1 and these settings, it produces Content ID df516469. Choose Practice and leave Include answer key on for questions followed by answers. Changing the paper, layout or output options may change the ID without changing the questions.

Equivalent fractionsCreate and save a short equivalent-fractions record for the comparison.
{
  "skillId": "fractions/equivalent-fractions",
  "generatorVersion": "mathsprig-1",
  "locale": "en",
  "parameters": {
    "min": 2,
    "max": 6,
    "count": 8,
    "columns": 2,
    "paper": "A4",
    "textSize": "standard",
    "regrouping": "any",
    "seed": "mathsprig-v1",
    "showExample": true,
    "includeAnswers": true
  },
  "view": "practice",
  "contentHash": "df516469"
}

Use the Content ID as a quick comparison, then check the questions and answers against your saved copy. The short ID is not proof that two files are identical. A saved PDF is the best way to keep the exact pages you used.

Handle a version change

After a generator update, an old seed may produce different questions. MathSprig does not keep a browsable history of earlier versions. Use your saved PDF for an exact reprint, and record the new version when making a new sheet.

Check a second skill separately

The same seed text can be used with another skill, but it will produce a different worksheet. Keep a separate record of the skill, range and settings for each sheet.

Multiplication factsUse a separate reproduction record for a multiplication-fact sheet.
